In 2008 the company acquired 50% shares in Tlhaho Environmental Consultants who have extensive environmental, health and safety and ISD experience and are based in Port Elizabeth. In the same year the company also purchased 50% shares in the Addis Ababa based MTS consultants who also have extensive international experience in Environmental Impact Assessments and Environmental management and monitoring.

Through the association with Tlhaho and MTS, Makhetha Development Consultants is able to mobilise the resources needed to do environmental impact assessment, environmental impact monitoring and to assist in development of environmental method statements.

The company has also been involved n the project management of environmental improvement projects such as the City of Cape Town Cleanest Town project which involved the rehabilitation of rivers and control of pollution in a number of communities in Cape Town
