PHELANDABA SANITATION PROJECT

The Phelandaba sanitation project is an excellent example of how community involvement can be maximised on a project.  It shows how job creation and skills development can be generated around the project and how the involvement of the community facilitates operations and maintenance in the future.

This project showcases the capacity of Makhetha Development Consultants to run community Based projects efficiently and effectively and within budgets. Project management and implementation systems used in the project have been developed and tested over a long period and their effectiveness proven.

Unfortunately many municipalities are going the pre-fabricated toilet route for rural sanitation provision and in the current economic situation they are losing out on a proven and manageable way of creating employment and developing skills for the future
